LSRC Swim Lesson Program

       Tuesday-Thursday. 3 times in the same week for a 40-minute lesson each day.

Saturday sessions are Four 30-minute sessions

Lessons will begin at time stated in description.

$150– Private Lessons for members. Price per child.

Adults can book any session: Indicate level 4 and be specific on what your goals are.

Beginning Swim Levels

Level 1 (ages 3+) little to no experience in the water – repeat as needed

Objectives

• Learn about water safety
  
• Gain comfort in the water 
• Kicking / making splashes while sitting on the wall with legs in the water
• Holding on the wall and blowing bubbles
  • Putting whole face in
  • Opening eyes underwater with goggles
• Diving for sticks in stairwell
• Learning “Letter T” float on back with support
• Learning “Letter X” front float with support
• Learning basic freestyle/ front crawl with assistive devices (super backpack and barbell)
• Jumping from the side to the instructor

Level 2 (ages 4+) comfortable in the water-completion of Level 1 or as evaluated by instructor-repeat as needed

Objectives

• Continue learning about water safety
• Increasing comfort in the water
• Mastery of Level 1 (listed above)
• Increased knowledge of freestyle and backstroke
  • Swim drills with kickboards (“Catch up” drill, kicking on front and back with kickboard etc.)
  • “Ready position” on the wall; pushing off on front and back into a streamline
  • Stroke fundamentals of freestyle and backstroke
• Goal to swim at least 10-15m of backstroke and freestyle

Level 3 (ages 5+) very comfortable in the water-completion of Levels 1&2 or as evaluated by instructor-repeat as needed

Objectives

• Continue learning about water safety
• Mastery of Levels 1 and 2 (listed above)
• Working to swim a length of the pool in freestyle and/or backstroke
• Basic introduction to breaststroke and/or butterfly
• Treading water
• Intro to diving

Advanced Swim Lessons

Lessons can be customized for your swimmer with one of our instructors.  Focus can be on a specific stroke(s), diving, flip turns, etc.  Indicate level 4 when signing up and tell us what they want to work on in the swim lesson experience box.
